It laid the basis for a ‘theory of subjectivity which can give a meaning to the view and picture of the world which is caused subjectively, yet is objectively binding’ (Braun 1992: 478). Less cryptically, as ‘world’ is removed from its affiliation with the transcendental and linked directly to the ‘worldly’ realm of the subject, space is opened for the subsequent coining of all kinds of composite terms with ‘world’ in them.
