There is no finish to clichés and simple assumptions approximately congregational wellbeing and fitness and power. it really is a lot more straightforward to begin a brand new church than flip round an previous one; nondenominational church buildings are transforming into, whereas denominational church buildings are loss of life; small-membership church buildings are involved purely with survival; suburban church buildings care merely approximately never-ending programming and "spiritual entertainment"; downtown church buildings are doomed to decay.

Book of Fire: William Tyndale, Thomas More and the Bloody Birth of the English Bible

The good echoing words of the King James Bible that experience boomed during the English-speaking brain for four hundred years – an eye fixed for a watch . . . consume, drink and be merry . . . . loss of life, the place is thy sting? . . . guy shall now not stay by way of bread on my own – are principally the paintings of a guy whose genius for phrases fits Shakespeare.

D’Onofrio (Casale Monferrato: Piemme, 1996), 699–767. Due to conflicts with the secular masters, Bonaventure was not able to mount the chair of theology as regent master until 1257, years after he had finished all the obligations necessary for his inauguration. Almost immediately after his appointment as regent master, he was asked to become minister general of the order. The Franciscans officially had one chair of theology, and were only allowed one regent master properly speaking. To coordinate teaching obligations, we do come across a system of overlapping incoming and outgoing regents.

Bihl, ‘Statuta Provincialia Provincorum Aquitaniae et Franciae (saec. XIII–XIV)’, Archivum Franciscanum Historicum 7 (1914), 466–501, 474. 36 chapter 2 as an interprovincial study house or studium generale for lectorate students. 57 From this remark, it is tempting to see the outlines of the later two-tier system, in which friars first went through their lectorate course, and pursued a degree afterwards if the opportunity arose. The first study house with some characteristics of a studium generale in the German lands might have been situated in Magdeburg.
