[386] Iran had diplomatic relations with Israel under the Pahlavi dynasty [387] but withdrew its recognition of Israel during the Islamic Revolution. [388] As a result of the 2008–09 Gaza War, Mauritania, Qatar, Bolivia, and Venezuela suspended political and economic ties with Israel.
